I’m happy to announce the promotion of Wendy Ratcliff to the position of Director - Human Resource Services. Wendy, having been a part of the staff of WCI for the past 21 years, brings to the role not only experience, but all of the skills necessary to lead and develop solutions to present day HR challenges.
There is a sad part to this announcement. Wendy’s promotion was made possible by Ellen Steele’s decision to leave WCI for an opportunity to join the law firm of McGuire Wood & Bissette as Firm Administrator. All of us at WCI are saddened by Ellen’s departure, but happy that she has an opportunity to expand her horizons, especially with a firm that continues to be a close friend of WCI.
I hope you will join us here at WCI in wishing Ellen much success in her new role. Fortunately, she’s moving to a workplace only a few miles away, and promises to reunite with all of her friends here, as often as she can. Ellen’s last day at WCI will be Friday, July 23.
Karol DeWitt has joined the WCI team as HR Advisor. She has considerable experience in organizational development initiatives, investigations, regulatory compliance, employee training and workplace safety. Her industry experience includes manufacturing, hospitality, sales and distribution. For the last 13 years, she was HR Manager at Dole Food Groups in Bessemer City, NC. Karol’s primary role will be advice and council through your calls, e-mails and the HR Hotline. Karol is SPHR and SHRM-SCP certified. She has served on various boards and outreach programs in her community. Beginning July 26, you can reach Karol at [email protected].
